netVISTA – GUI Toolkit For Telecom OSS

Create a custom look and feel and amalgamate apps in to one standard GUI

Technological advancements in Telecom have evolved in to an astonishing array of equipment and services, all of which require complex Operations Support Systems (OSS) to monitor and manage them. Practice has shown that for large and mid-size Communication Service Providers (CSP) a major contributing factor to achieving operational efficiency and market competitiveness is the effectiveness of the OSS.

Delivering top quality solutions is the focal point of CyberVision’s Telecom IT practice. CyberVision has taken an innovative approach in helping CSP’s achieve maximum efficiency by creating netVISTA – a toolkit for rapid development of custom graphical user interfaces (GUI) and GUI-widgets that provide convenient ways of accessing network performance statistics as well as navigating the OSS suite.

netVISTA’s GUI toolkit produces feature rich, user friendly widgets that visually represent data collected from different OSS components; Service Provisioning, Resource Planning, Expense Management, etc. netVISTA’s toolkit can be used to enhance existing GUI’s, create new GUI components, or create a GUI that combines functionality of several OSS components.

netVISTA includes templates and wizards for building custom GUI-widgets, and features a number of Key Performance Indicator (KPI) widgets – such as a widget to monitor SLA’s – that provide real-time and historic graphical representations of the network’s performance and service level statistics.

netVISTA includes the following widgets:

  • Map viewer – provides visualization of network elements via a network topology map, including status, short description, and an icon for each object;
  • Schema viewer – displays topology elements such as nodes and links as a schematic; supports rearranging objects and creating new schemas;
  • Topology browser – displays nodes including all associated elements (box, slot, card, port, link etc);
  • Entity list – displays network element information in a table or a tree view;
  • Performance list – displays network performance information in a table view; supports real-time status tracking of network elements;
  • Event list – displays events occurring in a network in a table or a tree view;
  • Chart viewer – represents information using chart graphical components: Bar, Pie, Line, etc;
  • Level-like visualization – real-time visualization of network objects KPI’s via a speedometer graphic;
  • Network meter – real-time visualization of network activities (data uploaded/downloaded, upload/download speed etc.) using graphical meters.
